Supporting MHS Debate just got easier.

Did Speech & Debate change your life?

Because it changed ours! That’s why we’re coming together as alumni to provide ongoing support to the program. Every student deserves the opportunity to learn and succeed through Speech & Debate at Moore High School.

Why it matters:

Life Skills

Speech and debate provides students an opportunity to develop skills in research, critical thinking, organization, persuasion and communication. These skills directly improve their academic achievements, job performance, and personal relationships.

Self Esteem

At a time when many teens struggle with developing healthy self esteem and personal identity, Speech and Debate builds confidence and character in a positive, competitive environment that lasts a life time.

Opportunity

Because of the rigorous, growth-centered nature of the program, students who participate in Speech and Debate programs instantly become more competitive when applying for college, submitting scholarships, entering the workforce, and more.

The question is not whether we can afford to invest in every child; it is whether we can afford not to."

Here's how you can help.

There are lots of ways to help fundraise for the team, like thanking people for their donations, making follow up phone calls, helping coordinate events, and more!

Every student deserves to feel confident in fresh tournament clothes that fit. Help out by donating clothes in excellent condition or purchasing $50 giftcards for kiddos to get new gear.

Clothing donations accepted in all sizes and includes dress shoes.

Try giftcards to places like Men’s Warehouse, Macy’s, Kohls, etc.

A tournament doesn’t happen without judges. Volunteer a day or two of your time to keep the Speech & Debate wheels spinning.

Can you review someone’s speech, debate case, or script? Let a kiddo send you their materials for you to review on your own time.

Zoom in to debate practice to judge, give words of wisdom, and boost morale. In-person visits also welcome as long as CDC recommendations allow it.

Become a Moore Mentor! Give ongoing guidance and support to the team. This looks like: Talking about your college experience, your career, and answering other questions about life after debate.

Thinking of other ways to support the team? Let us know!

Speech events, acting events, debate events? Keep it brief.

Thank you for supporting MHS Debate!
