Achinth Ilamurughu

Hi! My name’s Achinth and I graduated in 2025 from Moore High School. I plan on attending Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana with the intention of pursuing a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering. I first joined Speech and Debate my freshman year and continued doing it throughout my high school career. I’m a 2x State competitor, a 2x National competitor, and have my fair share of medals from this activity. To sum up some of my academic accomplishments outside of Speech and Debate, I was the valedictorian out of 683 graduating students, one of 100 Oklahoma Academic All-Staters, and a National Merit Scholar. Besides academics, I also regularly exercise, helped start the Boys Volleyball Club at Moore High School, played violin for 14 years, did Taekwondo for 9 years, was the leader of 3 different clubs, and regularly volunteered at my local library, food pantries, and assisted living locations. Not to mention, I was a Mr. MHS finalist, voted on by both faculty and other students. I’ve also worked 3 jobs during high school. First, as a server at Sonic, second, as a server assistant at HeyDay Entertainment, and finally as a lifeguard at The Station – Aquatic Center.
