Lester Asamoah
I’m Lester Asamoah, and I am a Foreign Service Officer, which is a career diplomat. I work with the U.S. Department of State. I currently work and live in Thailand working at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok as an Economic Officer. I previously worked in Washington D.C. in the Office of Japanese Affairs working on U.S.-Japan economic policy. My other overseas postings were in Jakarta, Indonesia as an Economic Officer and in Mexico City, Mexico as a Consular Officer. I have traveled for work and fun around Southeast Asia and around Mexico and Guatemala. I did my undergraduate degree at the University of Oklahoma where I received my B.A. in International and Area Studies majoring in International Security and minoring in Middle East Studies. I studied abroad in Jordan and Italy during my undergrad. I then did my master’s degree at American University in International Development concentrating in economic development. My hobbies are running, tennis, checking out cool art, and watching sports (particularly Thunder and OU games). I am proudly from Oklahoma City and went to Moore High School.
